I had the privilege of meeting many times with Sir David during his time as MP for Basildon, and later after he moved to Southend. He was always such a joy to meet, ans enthusiastic in his support for people of all faiths and none. Even in situations where one disagreed with David's views on a particular issue, one always felt that he was listening, and supporting one's right to disagree. He will be sadly missed, but his legacy will live on. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. God bless you David. My prayers are with Julia and the family.
