I met David many years ago when he was a fledgling MP. He came to our office in London where he would meet his wife to be, Julia, who worked in my department. They were so looking forward to their Wedding and the reception, the first ever to be held at the House of Commons. My friend Pat made their Wedding cake.
I was sadly ill when the wedding took place, but we were so proud of Julia. David was a lovely, genuine person and I am so sorry for Julia and their wonderful family. Words cannot express how I imagine they feel?
My deepest and most sincere wishes to all of you.
Why somebody would want to do this to such a lovely man, who's only ambition in life was to help people, is totally beyond me.
Rest in peace David. You are a huge loss to the nation.
